Dunlawton Commons Shopping Center Welcomes Chicken Salad Chick, Sleep Number, and Tijuana Flats

PORT ORANGE, FL.  The new Dunlawton Commons shopping center, located at 1760 Dunlawton Ave., welcomes three new tenants.  Sleep Number beds, a brand of Select Comfort (NASDAQ: SCSS) along with fast casual restaurant chains Chicken Salad Chick and Tijuana Flats plan to open soon at the shopping center.

The shopping center, which is currently under construction, is expected to be completed in May 2016, though some tenants may open for business after this date.  Dunlawton Commons is adjacent to Pollo Tropical on Dunlawton Ave. in Port Orange.  The center is anchored by BJ’s Wholesale, Goodwill, and LA Fitness.

Only one approximately 2,000 s.f. unit remains available at the center.  Ted Lightman, Vice President with Charles Wayne Properties, Inc. leases the center.  Lightman indicates that ownership is in negotiations with several prospects that will bring the center to 100% occupancy.  He also notes that Port Orange is very much on the radar for national tenants looking to expand, and Dunlawton Commons is one of the best positioned and high-profile sites available in the market.

Charles Wayne Properties, Inc. represented the owner in all transactions.  The tenants were represented by Jason Kaiser of SRS (Sleep Number), Cindy Schooler of Cushman Wakefield (Chicken Salad Chick), and Joseph Schuemann of Blue Rock Commercial (Tijuana Flats).  John Trost of Prudential CRES also assisted the owners of the center in the Chicken Salad Chick transaction.

The Dunlawton Commons shopping center is owned by Dunlawton Yorktowne Unit 4, LLC, and the property was co-developed by principals of Holub Development, based in Ormond Beach, Florida, and Charles Wayne Properties, Inc., based in Daytona Beach, Florida.
